Eduardo Marturet
Eduardo Marturet is an internationally recognized conductor and composer. Currently, he is the Music Director and Conductor of The Miami Symphony Orchestra, a position he has held since the 2006-2007 season. Other orchestras he has led include the Berliner Symphoniker, the London Philharmonic and the Buenos Aires Philharmonic.
His work is not limited to a classical repertoire; he has conducted concerts featuring pop and Latin music and has worked on numerous film scores. Born in Caracas, Venezuela, Eduardo studied in Cambridge, England, where he received a degree in piano, percussion, conducting and composition. He has also studied at the José Angel Lamas Music Conservatory in Caracas.
As a composer, Eduardo's works have been performed by major orchestras around the globe and his music spans various genres including symphonic, chamber and film scores. He has received numerous accolades for his work including the "Order of Civil Merit" from King Juan Carlos I of Spain for his contributions to the arts. He is a strong advocate for bringing music education and appreciation to the broader public.
